Phetchabun is a province in central-north Thailand on the western edge of the Phetchabun mountain range, best known for Khao Kho — a mountain plateau with cooler temperatures, strawberry farms, and panoramic views that has become a popular domestic tourist destination. The region was the scene of a fierce counterinsurgency campaign in the 1970s and the Khao Kho War Memorial commemorates those who died.
