Loei is a province in northern Isaan bordering Laos, known for its cool climate and the dramatic sandstone pillars of Phu Kradueng and Phu Hin Rong Kla national parks. The region is one of the few places in Thailand that experiences near-freezing temperatures in winter, and the strange rock formations, pine forests, and grasslands give it a landscape unlike anywhere else in the country.
