Apo Reef Natural Park, located off the coast of San Jose in Occidental Mindoro, is the largest coral reef system in the Philippines and the second-largest contiguous coral reef in the world. The reef supports an extraordinary diversity of marine life including sharks, rays, sea turtles, and dense schools of tropical fish. San Jose is the nearest town and departure point for liveaboard and day-trip diving excursions to this remote but spectacular protected area.
