Apo Island is a small volcanic island off the coast of Negros Oriental that is widely regarded as one of the Philippines' best diving and snorkelling destinations. The community-managed marine sanctuary surrounding the island has allowed coral reefs and fish populations to recover dramatically, and encounters with sea turtles are virtually guaranteed. The island's simple guesthouses and lack of motorised transport give it a genuinely unspoiled character.
