Coron is a municipality in northern Palawan renowned for some of the world's best wreck diving — a fleet of Japanese warships sunk in 1944 now rests on the seabed surrounded by coral and marine life. Above water, the island is equally spectacular: crystalline lakes like Kayangan Lake and Twin Lagoon are enclosed by jagged limestone cliffs and accessible only by bangka boat.
