Ubud
Indonesia
Tourism
Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali, a town in the central highlands set among rice terraces and river gorges that has been a centre of Balinese art, dance, and spirituality for centuries. The streets are lined with galleries, craft workshops, and family temples, while nightly performances of Kecak fire dance, Legong, and Barong are some of the finest traditional performing arts in Southeast Asia. The surrounding countryside, explored on foot or by bicycle through the subak irrigation system (a UNESCO World Heritage landscape), is the quintessential Bali experience.
