Nonthaburi is a province immediately north of Bangkok, forming part of the greater Bangkok metropolitan area. It is accessible from central Bangkok by the Chao Phraya Express Boat and is known for its durian orchards, the ornate Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat temple complex built on an island in the river, and the Bang Yai floating market.
