Buon Ma Thuot is the capital of Dak Lak province in the Central Highlands and the coffee capital of Vietnam — the surrounding region produces more coffee than anywhere else in the country. The city is also the cultural heart of the Ede people, and traditional Ede longhouses, elephant festivals, and the Dray Nur waterfall are among the local attractions.
