Marina Bay
Singapore
Tourism
Marina Bay is the spectacular waterfront heart of modern Singapore, a planned district built almost entirely on reclaimed land whose skyline — dominated by the sail-shaped towers of Marina Bay Sands and the illuminated domes of Gardens by the Bay — has become the defining image of 21st-century Singapore. The bay's waterfront promenade connects the Merlion Park, the ArtScience Museum, the Esplanade performing arts centre (nicknamed 'the Durian' for its spiky roof), and the colourful Clarke Quay restaurant and bar district, creating an unbroken circuit of world-class attractions all walkable from each other. The nightly Spectra light-and-water show on the bay is free and unmissable.
