| January | Singapore. January. The Northeast Monsoon is at its most active. Expect frequent heavy downpours, particularly in the evenings and overnight, with high humidity throughout. Rainfall averages 230–260 mm — the highest of the year. The air is noticeably cooler than mid-year (24–30°C), making outdoor sightseeing comfortable between showers. Pack a compact umbrella; the storms are dramatic but usually clear within an hour. |
| February | Singapore. February. The Northeast Monsoon begins to ease. Skies gradually brighten and shower events become shorter and less frequent than January. Average rainfall drops to around 105–130 mm. Temperatures rise slightly and the humidity feels less oppressive. A good month for outdoor attractions — Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay waterfront and Sentosa all benefit from the improving weather. |
| March | Singapore. March. The first inter-monsoon transition brings drier, sunnier weather. Rainfall drops significantly and afternoon thunderstorms, though still possible, are brief. Temperatures climb to 25–33°C. This is one of the most pleasant months to be in Singapore — crowds are moderate, humidity is manageable and outdoor activities are at their best. |
| April | Singapore. April. A classic inter-monsoon month: intense but brief Sumatra squalls and afternoon thunderstorms punctuate otherwise clear tropical skies. Storms can be fierce but rarely exceed an hour. Between them, temperatures peak at 31–34°C under brilliant sunshine. Off-peak for tourism — a great time to visit Gardens by the Bay, Chinatown and the Singapore Botanic Gardens without the holiday-season crowds. |
| May | Singapore. May. The Southwest Monsoon begins to establish. Despite the monsoon name, this is the start of Singapore's drier season — rain falls mainly as isolated afternoon convective thunderstorms rather than sustained downpours. Mornings are typically sunny and clear. Temperatures are high (25–33°C). Outdoor dining, rooftop bars and the Marina Bay promenade are at their most enjoyable in the dry evenings. |
| June | Singapore. June. Firmly in the Southwest Monsoon, this is one of Singapore's driest and sunniest months. Afternoon thundershowers refresh the air but leave the evenings clear and breezy. Humidity remains high year-round but is not at its peak. School holiday season begins, bringing more visitors; the Great Singapore Sale fills the shopping malls. Universal Studios Singapore and Sentosa attractions have longer queues. |
| July | Singapore. July. One of the driest months of the year, averaging 130–155 mm of rainfall. Tropical sunshine dominates mornings with afternoon convective thundershowers providing relief. This is prime outdoor season: the Marina Bay Sands infinity pool terrace, Sentosa beaches and rooftop venues are at their best. The city is busy with mid-year school holiday visitors and the tail end of the Great Singapore Sale. |
| August | Singapore. August. The Southwest Monsoon continues its drier pattern. Average temperatures peak at 31–33°C and afternoon thundershowers are a reliable feature, usually clearing by early evening. National Day (9 August) celebrations around Marina Bay include a spectacular aerial display and fireworks — hotels in the area book up for that weekend. Clear evenings make rooftop bars and the bay waterfront wonderful. |
| September | Singapore. September. The transition from the Southwest Monsoon brings a slight increase in rainfall. Afternoon thunderstorms are a near-daily feature. The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix in late September transforms Marina Bay into the world's only night-race circuit — the spectacle is extraordinary but hotels fill months in advance and command enormous price premiums. Weather is hot and humid but fully manageable; race-week evenings under the floodlights are unforgettable. |
| October | Singapore. October. The second inter-monsoon period brings intense Sumatra squalls and frequent heavy downpours — one of the wetter months of the year. Despite the rain, temperatures are pleasant (25–32°C) and the city is relatively uncrowded. Good value month for accommodation, and a comfortable time to explore indoor attractions: the ArtScience Museum, National Museum, Chinatown Complex hawker centre and the shopping belt along Orchard Road. |
| November | Singapore. November. The Northeast Monsoon returns, with rainfall increasing steadily through the month. Heavy overnight and evening showers become more frequent toward month-end. Skies can be dramatically moody over Marina Bay. Tourism is in its off-peak quieter phase before the December rush — prices are negotiable, queues are short and the city is at its most relaxed. A good month for the Botanic Gardens, Pulau Ubin and the cultural districts. |
| December | Singapore. December. The Northeast Monsoon is in full force — Singapore's wettest month, with rainfall frequently exceeding 300 mm. Heavy overnight and morning downpours are common, though the city's superb drainage means surface flooding is rare and brief. Despite the rain, December is the peak tourism month: Christmas illuminations on Orchard Road are spectacular, the New Year's Eve fireworks over Marina Bay Sands are world-class, and hotels fill early. Pack a quality umbrella and plan a mix of indoor and outdoor activities. |
