Arugam Bay

Arugam Bay is a small coastal town on Sri Lanka's east coast, consistently ranked among the top ten surfing destinations in the world, with a right-hand point break that works reliably from May to October. The bay's laid-back village atmosphere, thatched beach bars, and excellent seafood attract surfers from around the globe as well as swimmers and nature lovers drawn by nearby Kumana National Park — a wetland sanctuary famous for its nesting waterbirds. The surrounding lagoons and rocky headlands make it one of Sri Lanka's most scenic coastal settings.
