Tourism
Galle is a historic port city on Sri Lanka's southern coast, dominated by the imposing Galle Fort — a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Portuguese and expanded by the Dutch in the 17th century. Within the fort's ramparts lie cobblestone streets, Dutch colonial architecture, boutique hotels, art galleries, and cafés, creating one of Asia's most charming living historic quarters. The city is also close to the whale-watching waters off Mirissa and the beautiful beaches of the south coast.
