Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya is Sri Lanka's highest town at 1,868 metres, a hill station developed by the British as a cool retreat that earned the nickname 'Little England' for its Tudor-style bungalows, golf course, horse racing track, and English rose gardens. The town is surrounded by a mosaic of green tea estates producing Ceylon tea — some of the finest in the world — and guided tea factory tours are among the most popular activities. The nearby Horton Plains National Park contains World's End, a sheer escarpment with a 900-metre drop and extraordinary views across the lowlands.
