Penang

Penang is a Malaysian state on the northwest coast comprising a mainland strip and Penang Island, whose capital George Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its remarkably preserved colonial architecture, Chinese shop houses, and Hindu temples. The island is famous throughout Asia for its street food — char kway teow, assam laksa, and Penang rojak among them — and its vibrant street art scene. Beyond the city, Penang Hill, Batu Ferringhi beach, and the Penang National Park offer nature and relaxation.
