The Philippines grants 30-day visa-free entry to over 157 nationalities, making it one of the most open tourism destinations in Southeast Asia. Citizens of all Western European countries (Spain, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Greece), all Eastern EU states (Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Bulgaria), Russia, most of East Asia (Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan), all ASEAN nations (Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand), South Asian countries (Nepal, Sri Lanka), Turkey, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, most of the Americas (United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina), and Oceania (Australia, New Zealand) may enter without a visa for an initial stay of up to 30 days. Requirements: valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity, confirmed return or onward ticket, and proof of sufficient funds. The initial 30-day stay can be extended once at any Bureau of Immigration (BI) office for an additional 29 days (total 59 days) at a nominal fee. Further extensions up to 36 months in total are possible at progressive fees.
