The Cambodia e-Visa is the most convenient option for pre-trip planning: apply online at evisa.gov.kh at least 3 business days before travel (processing usually takes 3 business days, sometimes same-day). The fee is USD 30 and the visa grants a single 30-day stay within 90 days of issue. The e-Visa is accepted at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville international airports, and at the main land border crossings including Poipet, Bavet, and Cham Yeam. It is NOT accepted at smaller or remote crossings. A photo of you and your passport photo page must be uploaded at application time. Print the approval letter and show it at the border alongside your passport. Note: since January 2025, all passengers arriving by air must also complete a Cambodia e-Arrival Card online before boarding — this is separate from the e-Visa and is mandatory.

A tourist visa on arrival (T-visa) is available at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville international airports, and at most major land border crossings (Poipet, Bavet, Cham Yeam, and others). Cost is USD 30, single entry, 30-day stay. Requirements: 1 passport-size photo, a USD 30 cash payment (USD only — no cards accepted at the VOA counter), and your completed arrival form. Processing is usually 10–20 minutes. At land crossings — particularly Poipet — officials sometimes request an unofficial 'processing fee' of USD 5–10, especially during evenings or weekends. Firmly declining often works; paying is faster but rewards the practice. The e-Visa is generally preferable as it avoids these friction points. ASEAN citizens receive a separate free 30-day exemption.
