Citizens of these countries qualify for a free ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) for Sri Lanka. IMPORTANT: Since 7 November 2025, there is NO visa on arrival — the ETA must be applied for and approved BEFORE boarding your flight. Apply at eta.gov.lk: the online process takes 5–10 minutes and approval usually arrives within 24 hours (often much faster). The free ETA grants a 30-day stay with multiple entries, valid for 180 days from issue date, and is extendable at the Department of Immigration in Colombo for up to 60 additional days. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. The free ETA grants 30 days per stay, extendable at the Department of Immigration in Colombo, and is valid for multiple entries within its 180-day validity period. China is one of Sri Lanka's most important economic partners, having funded major infrastructure including Hambantota Port and the Lotus Tower. Nepal shares strong Buddhist and SAARC ties with Sri Lanka. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
