Bavet–Moc Bai is the single most-used land crossing between Cambodia and Vietnam, serving the busy Phnom Penh–Ho Chi Minh City bus corridor. Dozens of bus companies run this route daily, with the total journey taking 6–8 hours including the border stop. The crossing is open 24 hours and is one of the most straightforward in Southeast Asia — both immigration halls are modern, well-staffed, and generally efficient. Cambodia e-Visa and Vietnam e-Visa are both accepted, and visa-on-arrival is available on the Cambodian side. Corruption here is mild compared to other Cambodian crossings: a small 'stamp fee' of USD 1–2 is sometimes requested, which is petty compared to the chaos at Poipet. The Vietnamese side (Moc Bai) is particularly well organised. The surrounding landscape on both sides is flat and agricultural — rice paddies as far as the eye can see — with nothing particularly interesting to see at the crossing itself, but the onward roads are good. This is also an important commercial crossing and large lorry convoys are common, which can slow vehicle processing but rarely affects foot passengers.
