Nha Trang is Vietnam's premier beach resort city on the south-central coast, and its port serves both cruise ships and inter-island ferries to Phu Quoc and Con Dao. The cruise terminal is close to the city centre and the famous Nha Trang beach promenade. Shore excursions include the Cham Towers of Po Nagar (a 7th-century Hindu temple complex), snorkelling on the offshore islands, and the Alexandre Yersin Museum. Nha Trang has excellent seafood restaurants and a lively waterfront. The city is safe for tourists; petty crime in nightlife areas is worth being aware of but the port area itself is well-managed and trouble-free.
