🚌 Thuong Phuoc Gate - Kaoam Samnor Border Checkpoint (K'am Samnar)
Terrestrial · Vietnam
Thuong Phuoc–K'am Samnar is a remote Mekong River crossing in the upper Mekong Delta, located in Dong Thap Province (Vietnam) and Kandal Province (Cambodia). It is used primarily by local Mekong river traffic and by travellers doing the slow-boat route between Phnom Penh and the Vietnamese delta. The crossing has minimal facilities on both sides and sees very few foreign tourists — the more popular Vinh Xuong crossing to the south handles most of the delta boat traffic. Vietnam e-Visa is required for Vietnamese entry; Cambodia visa-on-arrival is available. Officials are generally relaxed, and the surrounding landscape of wide river channels, fishing nets, and riverside pagodas is beautiful. Minor informal fees are part of the local operating culture here — budget a couple of dollars and it will not be an issue.
