🚌 Cambodia Vietnam Bavet MocBai

Terrestrial · Vietnam

Moc Bai–Bavet is the main land crossing between Vietnam and Cambodia and the backbone of the Phnom Penh–Ho Chi Minh City overland corridor. Dozens of bus companies run this route daily, with the full journey taking 6–8 hours. The crossing is open 24 hours and is among the most efficient in Southeast Asia — both sides have modern facilities and processing is fast. Vietnam e-Visa is accepted; Cambodia e-Visa and visa-on-arrival are both available. The Vietnamese side is particularly well organised, with lanes separated for buses, cars, and pedestrians. There is minimal corruption and no meaningful safety concern. The surrounding landscape on both sides is flat agricultural Mekong delta country — the crossing itself is entirely unremarkable visually, but the bus ride from Ho Chi Minh City through the delta to Phnom Penh is one of the great classic Southeast Asia overland journeys.
